Your kids will have so much fun making these easy adorable fun and festive winter treats! And you don’t even have to turn on the oven!
Do you ever feel like a melted snowman? I do.
Lately I’ve been feeling a little sad because my son isn’t interested in baking with me anymore. It seems the only time he is interested is when his neighbor friend is over. Then both of them want to help me bake. They always climb up on the counter excited to help and quickly become covered in flour and argue over who gets to do what. My heart is happy when my house is filled with the chaos of kids – laughter, the pitter-patter of feet running through the house, the screen door opening and closing a bazillion times, their creativity, the baking disasters, and hearing ‘Mom’ for the 1,526,789th time.
It’s hard for me to accept that he just doesn’t want to help me in the kitchen anymore! He used to love climbing on the counter to help me. Now days he’s more interested in playing catch with a football or Monopoly with Dad. Is it his age? Is it a phase? Is it because he isn’t interested in what I am making? Has he, gulp, outgrown helping me in the kitchen?! I just cannot accept this change!
Please, someone, anyone. Help. The seasoned Mother’s must have experienced this when your kids were younger? Did you have a happy ending? I can’t handle any other outcome than one where we are in the kitchen together again!

How to Make Melted Snowman Bark
- Line a baking sheet, or two, with parchment paper.
- Prepare the snowmen parts and pieces. First, unwrap and cut 6 small Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. Set aside.
- Next break 12 pretzel sticks in half, giving you two arms for each snowman. Then have your small candy eyes, orange Tic-Tac’s, and mini-M&M’s within reach and ready to embellish with.
- Melt 1 cup of white chocolate at a time. Spoon a glob of the melted white chocolate onto the parchment paper.
- Swirl the melted white chocolate with the back of the spoon into a circle.
- Top with a cut-in-half Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup for his hat, two candy eyes, an orange Tic-Tac for his nose, 3 mini-M&M’s of the same color for his buttons, and a broken-in-half pretzel stick for his arms.
- Repeat until all of the white chocolate is used up. Melt additional 1 cup of white chocolate and repeat until you have 12 pieces of Melted Snowman Bark.
Tips for Making Melted Snowman Bark
- It’s recommended to melt 1 cup of white chocolate at a time because the chocolate hardens quickly.
- You’ll also want to embellish one snowman at a time for the same reason!
- Let your kids in on the fun. These don’t have to be perfect! Melted snowmen are just an adorable puddle of memories!
- You don’t have to use orange Tic-Tac’s, you can use an orange sprinkle if you’d like.
- The mini-M&M’s are recommended because the regular M&M’s are too big for the snowman. It doesn’t look proportionate.
- However, if that’s all you have to work with then just make large sized Melted Snowman Bark by making larger swirls of melted white chocolate. Or, if you’d like to keep them small (as pictured), then just use two regular sized M&M’s instead of three if that’s what you have.
How to Store Melted Snowman Bark
- It’s best to store them flat, in a sealed container. They will keep fresh up to a few weeks as long as they are covered!
