An addicting Christmas candy made with saltine crackers that tastes like toffee! A perfect gift idea for the holidays!

Christmas Crack with Saltine Crackers
We love going to garage sales in the summer! My husband and son went to one they called a gold mine. An older man was selling his collections of random things and my son found a old car that happened to be a radio. He was so excited! It’s been sitting next to his lamp since the day he brought it home.
A friend was recently over and they were playing pretty hard in his room. Not until right before bed that night did he realize a headlight was missing out of this car. Earlier that day I had walked through his room to access the disaster after I asked them to pick things up before they moved to the next thing. I found a piece of plastic on the floor that I thought was garbage and threw it away.
To make matters worse, when my husband got home from work that day he emptied all of the garbage cans in the house and threw the bag in the dumpster. Sigh.
My son’s alligator tears got worse as we retraced our steps and pieced together what happened. He was convinced the headlight was gone forever.
The first thing we did was pray about it. Then my husband said he empties the garbage in the same order every time and he felt pretty confident he could find it. Out he went to dumpster dive and in less than 5 minutes he found the missing headlight stuck to a gumball!
God is good. As we approach the holidays, let’s remember the reason for the season!

How to Make Christmas Crack
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Line a 10 x 15 baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with non-stick spray.
- Place 40 crackers in a single layer on the baking sheet.
- Combine 1 cup butter and 1 cup brown sugar in a saucepan, stirring frequently, and bring to a boil. Keep stirring continuously for 5 minutes after boil is reached.
- Pour the mixture over the crackers and spread evenly.
- Place the pan in the oven and bake for 5 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let sit until the crackers settle, just a minute or two. Using a butter knife, push any crackers that are overlapping back into place. Then immediately sprinkle 2 cups chocolate chips over the top.
- Let sit until you are able to spread the melted chocolate chips over the saltines.
- Sprinkle Christmas sprinkles on top and let toffee sit until cool.
- Cut or break into pieces to serve.

Recipe Notes:
- Make Ahead – You can easily make this ahead of time. Just store in a sealed container.
- Toffee Mixture – Be careful not to cook too long. It will burn and/or cool too hard.
- Toppings – You can swap out the sprinkles for any toffee you’d like such as M&M’s, mini-M&M’s, toffee bits, or chopped pecans.
