A fun and tasty twist to the traditional caramel apple bringing out the kid in everyone this Fall!
Chocolate Caramel Apple Pops
I love Fall days when I look out the window and see vibrant colors on the trees and the sun shining brightly. It looks warm enough to go to the pool, but it’s really sweatshirt and bonfire weather!
Your family will love spending these chilly days inside making Chocolate Caramel Candied Apple Pops! They are sticky, messy, and ooey-gooey. I find it liberating to make a mess together; it’s less time consuming when I don’t have to worry about straight lines or a ‘perfect’ look. This is the perfect ‘let loose’ recipe. Your kids can go crazy dunking, decorating, and drizzling!
Another fun one to make this time of year are Oreo Dirt Cake Cups! And Monster Eye Cookies are a great idea, too!
What You’ll Need:
- 4 Medium Size Apples
- 1 (12 oz) bag Milk Chocolate Chips
- 1/2 bag Kraft Caramels, Unwrapped
- 2 tbsp Milk
- Candy Toppings
- Small Popsicle Sticks
How to Make Chocolate Covered Caramel Apple Pops
- Lay out a large sheet of parchment paper on the countertop.
- Slice 4 medium size apples thick enough to allow room for the sliced apples to sturdily sit on the popsicle stick. You will get 2 slices per apple.
- Poke popsicle sticks through the sliced apples to make apple pops.
- Melt 1 (12 oz) bag of milk chocolate chips. Dunk into melted chocolate over each apple slice and lay on the parchment paper.
- Before the chocolate hardens, sprinkle desired toppings over each chocolate covered apple slice.
- Once the chocolate is firm, melt 1/2 bag of unwrapped caramels over low heat with 2 tbsp milk. Frequently stir. Generously drizzle over the top of the apple pops.
- Let harden before removing from the parchment paper.
Recipe Notes:
- Apples – Don’t use apples that are too big. They are too large to dunk into the chocolate and handle.
- Apple slices – Depending on the size of the apple, you will likely only get 2 slices per apple because of the core and the ends of the apple.
- Melting caramel – Make sure to melt the caramel on low heat and stir frequently. If you heat it to fast or too hot it will burn.
- Milk – Any kind of milk works, from almond milk or regular milk to heavy whipping cream. Even water works!

These look great! Do you know how long they would be good for? I’m considering making them as favors.

Thank you! Sadly, I would not recommend making these as favors. They can’t be made too far in advance because the water from the apple starts to slowly run out so they can get a little messy and not so pretty from making them too far in advance. They are best made and served the same day! You could probably make them the day before with decent results, but it’s a little risky.
