Homemade Apple Brownies
I was skeptical about this recipe for Apple Brownies with Maple Glaze, but curious enough to try them! My Grandma actually made these for you.
I was pleasantly surprised at how packed they are with Fall flavor, and they are everything you’d expect in a moist, chewy brownie!
If you love baking with apples in the Fall, I highly recommend making a Apple Fritter Cinnamon Roll Bake, The Best Apple Pie, Apple Dumplings with Crescent Rolls, Easy Apple Crisp, or Apple Dapple Cake, too!

What You’ll Need for the Apples:
- 2 1/2 cups Apples, Peeled & Diced
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
The Brownies:
- 2 1/4 cups Flour
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 1/2 cups Brown Sugar
- 1 cup Butter, Melted
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1/2 tsp Maple Syrup
- 2 Eggs
And the Maple Glaze:
- 3 tbsp Butter
- 1/3 cup Maple Syrup
- 1/8 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 1/2 cups Powdered Sugar

How to Make Apple Brownies with Maple Glaze
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 9 x 13 pan with non-stick spray and set aside.
- Peel, core, and dice enough apples to equal 2 1/2 cups.
- Add to a skillet over medium heat with 1/4 cup sugar and 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring often. The apples should be soft, but hold their shape.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- To make the brownie batter, whisk together 2 1/4 cups flour, 1 tsp baking powder, and 1/2 tsp cinnamon in a small bowl.
- In a large bowl, beat together 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, 1 cup melted butter, 1 tsp vanilla, and 1/2 tsp maple syrup. Add in 2 eggs and beat until well combined.
- Combine the dry ingredients into the wet and mix until well combined.
- Drain water from the apples, then fold into the brownie batter.
- Spread evenly into prepared pan.
- Bake for 25 minutes, or until light golden brown.
- Remove from oven and let cool.
- Once cooled, make the frosting by adding 3 tbsp butter, 1/3 cup maple syrup, and 1/8 tsp cinnamon to a sauce pan. Cook until the butter is just melted and the ingredients are well combined. The mixture should start to lightly bubble around the edges. Remove from heat.
- Stir in 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar and whisk until well combined. If the frosting is too thick to spread, add a little more maple syrup to thin.
- Spread frosting over the brownies evenly.
