The absolute best caramel brownies with a gooey-chocolatey center made from a cake mix!

Caramel Brownies Made with a Cake Mix
I’ve shared with you my love of going to the library to check out stacks of cookbooks. Well, now my son is enjoying flipping through them, too. He was looking through a Six Sisters cookbook and said there is just something about looking through recipes that makes him want to bake!
After we returned the books he wanted to look through the recipes on their blog, but just didn’t feel inspired. He said it’s just not the same as looking through their book. I get it! Cookbooks are still very much a thing, even though you can get recipes online!
I was helping him search through their blog and found this recipe for Cake Mix Caramel Brownies! I knew I had to try it! These brownies did not disappoint, they are fantastic and so easy to make with a cake mix!
If you love brownies as much as I do, then you should definitely try making Cheesecake Brownies, S’mores Brownie Bars, Buckeye Brownies with Brownie Mix, Raspberry Brownies, or Zucchini Brownies, too!

What You’ll Need:
- 1 (14 oz) bag Kraft Caramels
- 1/2 cup + 1/3 cup Evaporated Milk
- 1 (15 oz) box German Chocolate Cake Mix
- 3/4 cup Butter, Melted
- 1/4 cup Pecans, Chopped
- 2 cups Chocolate Chips

How to Make Cake Mix Caramel Brownies
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Generously spray a 9 x 13 pan with non-stick spray and set aside.
- Peel 1 (14 oz) bag Kraft caramels and place in a small sauce pan over low heat with 1/2 cup evaporated milk, stirring frequently until caramels are melted.
- In a large bowl, mix together 1 (15 oz) box German chocolate cake mix, 1/3 cup evaporated milk, 3/4 cup melted butter, and 1/4 cup chopped pecans. The dough will be very thick and hard to stir – it’s supposed to be that way.
- Spread 1/2 the batter in the prepared pan and bake for 8 minutes. Place remaining batter in the refrigerator.
- Remove brownies from the oven and sprinkle 2 cups chocolate chips on top.
- Then drizzle caramel sauce over the chocolate chips.
- Remove brownies from the refrigerator. Make small balls of dough and smash them flat. Carefully lay out over the caramel layer until completely covered.
- Bake for additional 15-20 minutes. Remove and let cool.
