Brownie Puppy Chow with Brownie Mix

A few weeks ago we had some car drama. My husband’s truck was making noise so we had it looked at. After looking into it the mechanic recommended we take it straight to the junk yard. Turns out it was so rusted underneath it wasn’t safe to drive! My husband and I have both driven beaters for a long time. The fanciest gadget in my car is the automatic windows! HA!

Of course this happened two weeks before I was scheduled to take a big trip to the International Pathfinder Camporee. We felt a lot of pressure because we HAD to find a truck, it wasn’t a timeline we chose. So we were at the mercy of the market. With time you can find the color, year, miles, make, and price that you want. But without time, there are limitations and we had to pick from what is available.

We were pretty convinced that we wanted a truck we found online in Minneapolis. But we should have known it was too good to be true. We asked my brother-in-law if he would check it out since he lives near there and he found a long list of red flags!

What You’ll Need:

• 6 cups Rice Chex Cereal
• 1 cup Milk Chocolate Chips
• 1/2 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
• 1/4 cup Butter
• 1 tsp Vanilla
• 2 1/2 cups Brownie Mix

How to Make Brownie Batter Puppy Chow

• Pour 6 cups Rice Chex cereal in a large bowl and set aside.
• Put 1 cup milk chocolate chips, 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter, and 1/4 cup butter in a small sauce pan and melt together over low heat. Stir frequently until completely melted and combined then add in 1 tsp vanilla and stir.
• Pour over cereal and mix until the cereal is coated.
• Transfer to a gallon Ziplock bag, then add 2 1/2 cups brownie mix. Seal the bag and shake until the cereal is well coated.

Ingredients

• 6 cups Rice Chex Cereal
• 1 cup Milk Chocolate Chips
• 1/2 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
• 1/4 cup Butter
• 1 tsp Vanilla
• 2 1/2 cups Brownie Mix

Instructions

1. Pour Chex cereal in a large bowl and set aside.
2. Put chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter in a small sauce pan and melt together over low heat. Stir frequently until completely melted and combined then add vanilla and stir.
3. Pour over cereal and mix until the cereal is coated.
4. Transfer to a gallon Ziplock bag, then add brownie mix. Seal the bag and shake until the cereal is well coated.
