The perfect hot drink for a cold Fall day! This delicious cinnamon spiced drink works great for holidays, too!
Old Fashioned Hot Mulled Cider
I was talking with a friend of mine about prayer, who happened to be cutting my hair at the time. Both of us were lamenting about the guilt we felt over letting our lives get so busy that we were falling asleep while praying.
Each of us had expectations for our daily prayer time and we had fallen short. As we were talking, she said, “But if you think about it, is there really anything better than falling asleep giving our worries to God?” Amen to that!
Sometimes the expectations we put on ourselves as parents or spouses, or on our children, are not realistic. We so easily feel disappointed or that we are a disappointment, when all we have to do is recalibrate. It’s okay to pivot. It’s not okay to give up.
God doesn’t demand anything of us. He wants a relationship with us, which forms from spending time with Him in prayer. Whether that’s first thing in the morning, all day long, or as you are falling asleep… just talk to Him. He wants to hear from you, even if that means it doesn’t perfectly match the image in your head of what it ‘should’ be.
A sip of this Hot Mulled Cider will help you slow down. Savor it while you bake an Apple Pie, an Easy Apple Crisp, Baked Apple Cider Donuts, or an Apple Fritter Cinnamon Roll Bake!
