A beautiful and naturally sweetened 2-ingredient smoothie that is made by blending frozen fruit and a can of pears!
This past weekend my son asked if we could have a game night and invite some friends over. The past couple of times he’s asked I’ve said ‘another time,’ so when I said ‘yes’ this time you’d think he won the Lego lottery!
He was sooooo excited. He organized all of the chairs, got out his favorite games, made a cute little sign for the front door, and paced around the house until our guests (who graciously accepted a last minute invitation) arrived!
We planned this on a whim so I didn’t have much to offer for snacks. But I had stuff for smoothies! And our dear friends brought over the most delicious popcorn and homemade pizza!
I think I’ve finally let go of the feeling to have everything single thing planned and/or perfect. There’s just not enough time and life is too short to keep overthinking everything! Sure, it’s nice to know our schedule in advance – I don’t think I’ll ever deviate from planning entirely. But, if the situation presents itself, I am not going to concern myself over matters that don’t matter because everything always work out!
I used to have a ‘follow the recipe exactly’ mentality. But I have evolved over the years, my creativity has blossomed in the kitchen, and I am not afraid of ruining recipes as much as I once was. I have my husband to thank for that! He grew up very poor, so it is ingrained in him to not waste anything. He eats anything! Well, except for black olives.
Smoothies are a great way to exercise your creativity! For me, the fewer the ingredients the recipe has the more likely I am to make it. You don’t need milk or yogurt or anything fancy to make a delicious tasting smoothie. All you need is fruit! Which really cuts down on the calories, too.
For most of my smoothies, I use a bag of frozen fruit and a can of sliced pears (with the juice). That’s it. You can do this with ANY frozen fruit! It’s so easy. In just a few minutes, you’ll be drinking a cool and refreshing Easy Healthy Strawberry Smoothie!
Ingredients in a Healthy Strawberry Smoothie

- Canned Pear Slices, with Juice
How to Make a Healthy Strawberry Smoothie

- Blend until smooth
Can Any Frozen Fruit Be Used in Smoothies?
Yes, any frozen fruit can be used in a fruit smoothie! You can use frozen fruit such as:
- Strawberries
- Raspberries
- Blueberries
- Mangos
- Peaches
Can Any Canned Fruit Be Used in Smoothies?
Yes, but I highly recommend using pears. Pears are light colored and naturally sweetened. They don’t overpower the taste or change the color of the frozen fruit you are using. Pears are easily combined with any frozen fruit without altering the taste of the smoothie. So when it’s a strawberry smoothie, all you will taste are the strawberries!
Fruit smoothies are a stunning reminder of the love God has for us! He made such delicious and bountiful fruit for us. When we have fruit that is going bad and needs to be used up, we throw it in a smoothie or fruit leather and it becomes beautiful again!
