A delicate and delicious loaf of comforting homemade bread baked to absolute perfection!
No Knead Artisan Bread
This bread is absolutely fantastic! The recipe was created by Sally at Sally’s Baking Addiction and it was discovered and shared with me by my friend Lisa!
This recipe gets rave reviews on her blog. The only time consuming part about it is that you have to let it raise for a while, but it’s actually super easy to make with just a few simple ingredients. And my very favorite way to enjoy it is with gobs of Easy Spinach Artichoke Dip on every bite!
My Grandma makes all of the bread recipes I share for you! She’s a pro. Her Homemade Garlic Bread, Pumpkin Bread, Homemade Oatmeal Bread, Homemade Cheddar Biscuits, Homemade Fluffy Biscuits, and this Homemade Artisan Bread are some of my very favorites!
What You’ll Need:
- 3 1/4 cups Bread Flour
- 2 tsp Instant Yeast
- 2 tsp Coarse Salt
- 1 1/2 cups Water
How to Make Homemade Artisan Bread
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 3 1/4 cups bread flour, 2 tsp instant yeast, and 2 tsp coarse salt. Pour in 1 1/2 cups water and mix together.
- The dough will seem dry, but just keep working it until the flour is moistened. If needed, use your hands. The dough will turn sticky. Shape into a ball in the bowl as best as you can.
- Cover the dough in the bowl tightly with plastic wrap and leave sit on the counter for 2-3 hours. The dough should just about double in size, stick to the sides of the bowl, and have a lot of air bubbles.
- Lightly dust a non-stick baking sheet with flour and set aside. Cut the dough ball in half and place both pieces on the prepared pan. Using floured hands shape into 2 long loaves about 9 x 3 inches each and about 3 inches apart. Put 3 slashes through the top of each loaf. Loosely cover and let rest for 45 minutes.
- While the loaves rest, preheat oven to 475 degrees.
- Bake for 15-25 minutes. The baking time varies depending on how golden brown you’d like the crust. Gently tap the loaves, if they sound hollow then the bread is done.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before cutting.
