Original Rice Krispies Treats
One of my greatest weaknesses is Rice Krispie Treats! I don’t know what it is about them, but they’ve always had a hold on me. This original recipe is my favorite, but I also love Scotcheroos and Avalanche Bars!
I’ve made these a million times and have tried several different ways of pressing them down into the pan looking for the easiest non-stick way. It turns out putting a Ziplock bag over my hand then spraying the outside of the bag with non-stick spray before pressing them down is the best way to avoid a sticky mess!
I always have bags of marshmallows and a box of Rice Krispies in my pantry at all times. Then I am always prepared to make a quick treat when I need something last minute! And they work for every season, too. You can sprinkle these with any holiday sprinkles you’d like!
This is one of my most popular recipes! People are raving about them all the time online, I love it! If you need more ooey-gooey inspiration, you can make these for Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween, or the 4th of July!

What You’ll Need:
- 3 tbsp Butter, Melted
- 1 (10 oz) bag Marshmallows
- 6 cups Rice Krispies Cereal

How to Make Rice Krispie Treats
- Spray 9 x 13 pan with non-stick spray and set aside.
- Melt 3 tbsp butter in a large microwave safe bowl.
- Pour 1 (10 oz) bag of marshmallows into the bowl and stir.
- Place into microwave for 45 seconds, remove and stir.
- Return to the microwave and heat for another 45 seconds. Remove from the microwave and stir again.
- Pour 6 cups Rice Krispies into the melted marshmallows and mix until well combined.
- Distribute evenly and press firmly into the pan.
Pro Tip: Place a Ziplock bag over your hand and spray the outside of the bag with non-stick spray before pressing down the Rice Krispie Treats. This helps to keep them from sticking to your hand!
