FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
What does ‘sugar-free’ mean in this banana bread?
It typically means no refined or added sugar. The sweetness comes from bananas and honey.
Can I add mix-in’s?
Yes! You can add things like nuts, seeds, or sugar-free chocolate chips and won’t affect the sugar-free status if chosen carefully.
How ripe should the bananas be?
Very ripe – brown, spotty bananas are ideal. As bananas ripen, their natural sugars intensify, which improves flavor and sweetness.
Recipe Notes:
- Alternative Recipe – You can modify to use 1/2 cup sugar-free applesauce and 2 eggs instead of 1 cup sugar-free applesauce and 1 tsp baking powder.
- Cinnamon – You could add cinnamon for a burst of cozy flavor!
