The Best One-Bowl Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Recipe!
I am feeling feisty. I recently discovered there are people stealing food bloggers pictures from Pinterest and then using them on Etsy to sell the recipes that go with the pictures. And they are getting a ton of sales!
What REALLY blows my mind, is that some of the pictures and recipes they are stealing are AI generated images and recipes. They are fake. Fake pictures and fake recipes. The recipes have not been tested, they were generated by a robot. I do not like AI – I will never, ever use it. That’s a rant for a different day.
First of all, you can get the recipe for FREE right on the blog. Second, that’s theft. Third, be aware.
It takes me an average of 2 hours per post on the blog, plus it takes time to plan and get groceries. Then I spend additional time doing maintenance, marketing, and updating old posts. Sometimes updating old content only takes a few minutes. But other times I take new pictures, which is time consuming.
It’s just not fair that people can get away with this. Bloggers work really, really hard. Our work is stolen more often than people realize, and in more ways then you’d think possible.
All of the recipes I share will always be free to you and the pictures that go with it will never be perfect. That’s how you know it’s real.
This is one of my very favorite recipes for Chocolate Chip Banana Bread! It’s a one-bowl recipe, which makes it super easy for kids to make!
Why this Recipe Works:
- Uses Simple Pantry Staples – That you likely already have on hand.
- Quick and Easy to Make – With minimal prep and no special equipment required.
- Not Overly Sweet – Allows the natural banana flavor to shine through.
- Creates a Soft, Moist Loaf – That stays fresh for days.
- Beginner Friendly – With straightforward ingredients and simple mixing methods.

Ingredients You’ll Need:
- 3 Ripe Bananas – Adds natural sweetness, moisture, and the classic banana flavor.
- 1/3 cup Salted Butter (Melted) – Provides richness, moisture and a tender crumb.
- 1/2 cup Sugar – Sweetens the bread and helps create a soft crumb.
- 1 Egg – Bind the ingredients together and adds structure.
- 1 tsp Vanilla – Enhances the banana and chocolate flavors with warm sweetness.
- 1 tsp Baking Soda – Acts as the leavening agent to help the bread rise.
- 1 1/2 cups Flour – Forms the base of the batter and gives the loaf its structure.
- 1/2 cup Mini-Chocolate Chips – Adds bursts of chocolate flavor throughout the bread.

How to Make the Best Chocolate Chip Banana Bread
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a bread pan with non-stick spray and set aside.
- In a large bowl, mash 3 bananas. Stir in 1/3 cup melted salted butter.
- Then stir in 1/2 cup sugar, 1 egg, 1 tsp vanilla, and 1 tsp baking soda. Once mixed, add in 1 1/2 cups flour. Mix well and stir in 1/2 cup mini-chocolate chips.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan and distribute evenly. Sprinkle additional mini-chocolate chips on top of the batter and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.
- Let cool completely, then remove from the pan.

My Best Tips:
- Basic Banana Bread Recipe – You can use this recipe to make plain ‘ole banana bread, just leave out the chocolate chips.
- Chocolate Chip Size – You can use mini or regular size chocolate chips, they work just the same! But I prefer the mini size.
- Mix-In’s – Try stirring in 1/2 cup peanut butter chips instead of chocolate chips OR get wild and crazy and add them in addition to the chocolate chips! Or, you can add 1/4 cup nuts, such as chopped pecans or walnuts.
- Don’t Over Bake – Check the bread at 50 minutes. A toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf should come out with moist crumbs. If additional baking time is needed, continue to watch it closely. Over baking the bread will make it dry and this recipe should make a moist loaf of bread.
