Everyone’s favorite game day snack is so easy to make at home! These pretzels are perfectly chewy and fluffy!

Homemade Soft Pretzels
I recently sliced my finger open doing the dishes. I’ve always said it’s a hazardous job, it really should be left to my husband who is far more careful when handling knives than I am! In my defense, we had dull knives for a bazillion years. Last Christmas a new knife set was on my wish list – apparently it’s taking me a long time to get used to sharp knifes!
My finger was pretty sore for a few days so it changed the way I typed. I had to find work arounds for some of the things I have to do, but it turns out it was a lot faster doing it the new way! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – my Grandma always says, “There is never an ill wind that doesn’t blow some good!”
She made these Easy Homemade Soft Pretzels for you! It’s the same recipe as my Cinnamon Sugar Soft Pretzels, just with salt instead.
If you need a snack spread, then I think you should consider making Puppy Chow, Reese’s Peanut Butter Dip, Beer Dip, Cheesy Ranch Crackers, too!

What You’ll Need for the Dough:
- 2 cups Milk, Warm
- 2 packages (1 1/2 tbsp) Yeast
- 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
- 4 tbsp Butter, Melted
- 2 tsp Salt
- 4 1/2 cups Flour
And the Topping:
- 1/3 cup Baking Soda
- 3 cups Water, Warm
- 4 tbsp Butter, Melted
- Coarse Salt

How to Make Easy Homemade Soft Pretzels
- In a large bowl, dissolve 2 packages (1 1/2 tbsp) yeast in 2 cups warm milk. When the mixture is bubbly, mix in the 1/4 cup brown sugar, 4 tbsp melted butter, 2 tsp salt, and 1 cup flour. Mix until combined.
- Add in remaining flour, 1 cup at a time, and mix until smooth and slightly sticky dough forms. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let rise for an hour, or until doubled in size.
- After the dough has risen, preheat oven to 450 degrees.
- Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal size pieces and roll each piece into a long skinny rope. Twist into a pretzel shape.
- In a medium bowl, whisk 1/3 cup baking soda into 3 cups warm water until dissolved. Dip each pretzel into the water/baking soda mixture and place onto the prepared pans. Bake for 7 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Melt 4 tbsp butter and brush the pretzels with it. Then sprinkle with coarse salt.
