Homemade Strawberry Syrup
One of the most frequently asked questions I get is, “Do you take all of those pictures?”
Yes, I take all of the pictures on my blog. It’s taken me what feels like an eternity to learn the little I know about photography. While they look better then they used to I still have a lot to learn! For fun, scroll down and see if you can find a reflection of me taking these pictures in the Strawberry Syrup bottle!
You can pour this syrup over Valentine Pancake Nachos, Cinnamon Rolls in the Waffle Maker, or Easy Healthy Pancakes!
What You’ll Need:
- 4 cups Strawberries, Sliced
- 1 1/2 cups Water
- 1 cup Sugar
- 1/2 tbsp Vanilla
How to Make Strawberry Syrup
- In a large sauce pan, combine 4 cups sliced strawberries, 1 1/2 cups water, 1 cup sugar, and 1/2 tbsp vanilla. Stir and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Strain the strawberries into a pitcher using a mesh strainer. Lightly press down on the strawberries as you strain. Be sure not to press hard to avoid getting chunks of strawberries in the syrup.
- Pour back into the sauce pan. Bring to a low boil and let cook for an additional 15 minutes or until the mixture thickens to a syrup consistency.
- Remove from heat and let cool. It will thicken as it cools. Transfer to a syrup bottle to store.
