Original Rice Krispie Treats with Mini-Marshmallows
To my surprise, one of my most viral recipes has been the original recipe for Rice Krispie Treats! It’s a tried and true recipe with only 3-simple ingredients. I frequently make them because they are so quick and easy to make!
I often have leftover ingredients from other recipes laying around that I try to creatively use up. One day I had a partial bag of mini-marshmallows left over and as I was making Rice Krispie Treats on a whim decided just to mix them in for fun! The idea did not disappoint! I’ve been intentionally doing that ever since!

What You’ll Need:
- 3 tbsp Butter, Melted
- 1 (10 oz) bag Marshmallows
- 6 cups Rice Krispies Cereal
- 3 cups Mini-Marshmallows
How to Make Marshmallow Rice Krispie Treats
- Spray 9 x 13 pan with non-stick spray and set aside.
- Melt 3 tbsp butter in a large microwave safe bowl.
- Pour 1 (10 oz) bag of marshmallows into the bowl and stir.
- Place into microwave for 45 seconds, remove and stir.
- Return to the microwave and heat for another 45 seconds. Remove from the microwave and stir again.
- Pour 6 cups Rice Krispies into the melted marshmallows and mix until well combined.
- Then stir in 3 cups mini-marshmallows until mixed in well.
- Distribute evenly and press firmly into the pan.
Pro Tip: Place a Ziplock bag over your hand and spray the outside of the bag with non-stick spray before pressing down the Rice Krispie Treats. This helps to keep them from sticking to your hand!

Ingredients
- 3 tbsp Butter, Melted
- 1 (10 oz) bag Marshmallows
- 6 cups Rice Krispies Cereal

Instructions
