Easter M&M Cookies
I think it’s about time I share with you one of my favorite baking hacks! When a recipe calls for salt AND butter, I use salted butter and omit the salt. I like the subtle balance the salted butter provides!
What I love about this M&M Easter Cookie Recipe is that they are thick, soft, and chewy and they aren’t too sweet. They are just right!

What You’ll Need:
- 1 cup Butter
- 3/4 cup Sugar
- 3/4 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 2 Eggs
- 3 cups Flour
- 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
- 2 cups Spring Colored M&M’s
How to Make Soft & Chewy M&M Easter Cookies
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together 1 cup butter, 3/4 cup sugar, 3/4 cup brown sugar, and 1 tsp vanilla.
- Add 2 eggs and beat well.
- In a separate bowl, combine 3 cups flour with 1/2 tsp baking soda and 1/2 tsp baking powder. Pour into wet mixture and mix until dough forms.
- Fold in 2 cups M&M’s.
- Place heaping one inch scoops of dough on the prepared cookie sheet, press loose M&M’s from the bottom of the bowl into the outside of the top and sides of the cookie dough balls, and bake for 10 minutes.
Recipe Notes:
- M&M’s – As you are stirring the M&M’s into the cookie dough, you’ll start to wonder if you used too many M&M’s. Once you grab a ball of cookie dough, use the loose M&M’s to stick into the top and sides before or after baking.
- Pretty M&M’s – If you put the M&M’s in the tops of the cookie dough before baking, the M&M’s will likely crack in the baking process. To avoid this and have pretty M&M’s, put them in the tops of the cookies as soon as they come out of the oven.
