Reese’s Lovers, This Edible Cookie Dough Is for You!
I wish I could stand time still, or at least slow it down!
When my son was a baby we rocked together a lot. I would measure his growth between the arms of the recliner. He was so tiny, it seemed like it would take a lifetime for the length of his body to be the width of the chair. And then one day he didn’t need to be rocked as much any more. He’s now much too big to be rocked!
Over the years I’ve taken pictures of things that might seem silly to some, but they are cherished memories to me. Like his little wet foot prints on the bathroom mat, his little sand filled shoes left on the deck, or a pile of toys and trinkets on the kitchen counter that he emptied from his pocket.
The time is going by so fast that no matter how hard I try to cherish the time together, it quickly become memories. All we can do with the time that is slipping away from us quickly is the best that we can do, spend as much time together as possible, and love with all of our hearts!
Why this Recipe Works:
- No Eggs, Safe to Eat – The dough is safe to eat raw while still keeping a soft cookie dough texture.
- Butter & Peanut Butter Replaces the Eggs – The combination of butter and peanut butter provides richness, moisture, and binding, helping hold the dough together without eggs.
- Brown Sugar Adds Moisture & Flavor – Brown sugar keeps the dough soft and slightly chewy while adding a deeper, caramel-like sweetness.
- Reese’s Mix-Ins Add Texture & Flavor Boost – Reese’s Pieces and peanut butter cups provide crunch, chocolate, and bursts of peanut butter, balancing the creamy dough with texture and richness.

Ingredients You’ll Need:
- 1/2 Butter (Softened) – Creates a rich, creamy base and gives the dough its smooth, classic cookie dough texture.
- 3/4 cup Brown Sugar – Adds sweetness and moisture, plus a slight caramel flavor that makes the dough taste like real cookies.
- 2 tsp Vanilla – Enhances the overall flavor and adds warmth and depth.
- 1/4 cup Peanut Butter – Brings that signature nutty, creamy flavor that pairs perfectly with the chocolate.
- 1 cup Flour – Provides structure and thickens the dough to the perfect scoopable consistency.
- 1/2 cup Reese’s Pieces – Adds crunchy texture and bursts of peanut butter chocolate flavor in every bite.
- 20 Unwrapped Mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (Halved) – Delivers gooey, rich chocolate-peanut butter chunks that make the dough extra indulgent.

How to Make Edible Reese’s Cookie Dough
- With a hand mixer, cream together 1 stick of salted softened butter with 3/4 cup packed brown sugar. Add in 2 tsp vanilla and mix well.
- Add and mix in 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter.
- Mix in 1 cup flour. Keep mixing until it becomes cookie dough consistency.
- Fold in 1/2 cup Reese’s Pieces and 20 unwrapped, halved Mini Reese’s Peanut Butter.
My Best Tips:
- Heat Treat the Flour – Raw flour can contain bacteria. Heat to about 165 degrees to make it safe. Let flour cool completely before mixing it or it melts the butter and ruins the texture.
- On the Flip Side – I don’t heat treat the flour. It’s just a matter of preference. You decide!
- Reese’s Cups Swap – Try using white peanut butter cups! (There are also many other flavors to try!)
