Dairy-Free Veggie Dip
I finally took the time to re-organize my spice cupboard! My son wanted to help, so he took all of the spices out of the spice rack and lined them up for me. As we were organizing we realized I had a lot, and I mean lot, of duplicates. It was crazy! How did all of those containers fit in that small space?! You know, they didn’t. It was a disaster. I just kept stacking them and when I needed one I would waste a lot of time shuffling them around to find the one I wanted.
I decided to use this as a learning opportunity, for both my son and I. Kids want to help. We should encourage their curiosity and willingness to help. Not only that, but they need to see us correcting bad habits and learning from our mistakes. We are not perfect and we shouldn’t expect them to be, either.
As the two of us laughed about all of the duplicates we had, I made sure to tell him that I had a plan to avoid buying so many duplicate spices in the future. My new plan is to check my stash of spices first before buying anymore. I already knew that I should have been doing that. But I wasn’t taking the time to do it. Instead of beating myself up, I moved on. Kids need to see us forgiving ourselves, too.
I’ve always had a hard time eating raw veggies, so thankfully I had plenty of spices to make this Vegan Veggie Dip. I like to hide, cover, or smother them so they are good in this Easy Vegetable Pizza Wrap or Christmas Crunch Salad, too!
What You’ll Need:
- 2 cups Vegan Mayo
- 2 tsp Dill Weed
- 2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 2 tsp Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Parsley
- 2 tsp Lemon Juice
- 1/4 cup Water
How to Make Vegan Veggie Dip
- Combine 2 cups vegan mayo, 2 tsp dill weed, 2 tsp garlic powder, 2 tsp onion powder, 1 tsp salt, 2 tbsp parsley, 2 tsp lemon juice, and 1/4 cup water into a bowl.
- Mix together by hand until everything is well combined.
Recipe Notes & Substitutions:
- Salad dressing – Use the exact same recipe except increase the measurement of water to 1/2 cup instead of 1/4 cup. So, combine:
- 2 cups Vegan Mayo
- 2 tsp Dill Weed
- 2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 2 tsp Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp Parsley
- 2 tsp Lemon Juice
- 1/2 cup Water
- Mix together by hand until everything is well combined.
- Consistency – You can make this dip, or dressing, as thick or thin as you’d like. Start with a small amount of water and if it’s too thick, add a little water. Repeat until you get the consistency you want.
- Mayo – Regular mayo or Miracle Whip works, too.
- Milk – You can also use soy/almond milk in place of the water. Works just the same!
- Storing – This dip keeps well in the refrigerator, it doesn’t separate. We store our dip/dressing in a dressing bottle. Makes it easier to use!
