Crispy Refried Bean Taco Recipe
I’ve been married for 20 years, which means I have heard, “What’s for dinner?” at least 256,781,623,999 times.” I’m probably underestimating. It’s most likely twice that.
Some weeks I have it together with a pretty planned menu and all the groceries stocked. Some weeks I am collecting crumbs out of the couch cushions, putting them in a bowl, and calling it cereal. And other times it’s, ‘Let’s just go out to eat!”
These Crispy Refried Bean Tacos will answer that dreaded question at least half the time. They are super easy to make with four simple ingredients and come together in just a few minutes! Your kids can even make them!

What You’ll Need:
- 1 (16 oz) can Refried Beans
- 1/2 cup Salsa
- 2 cups Mexican Cheese, Shredded
- 8 (8″) Flour Tortillas
- 2 tbsp Butter
How to Make Crispy Refried Bean Tacos
- Mix 1 (16 oz) can refried beans, 1/2 cup salsa, and 2 cups shredded Mexican cheese together.
- Spread a heaping spoonful of the bean mixture onto half of a 8″ flour tortilla and fold in half. Repeat with remaining tortillas.
- Melt 1/2 tbsp butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Once the butter has melted, add tacos. Cook until the tortilla becomes crispy, then flip and cook the other side.
- Repeat with remaining tacos. Add more butter as needed.
