Easy Baked Mac & Cheese
My son recently needed some advice about a girl that bothers him. He didn’t like any of my recommendations, so I suggested he talk to my husband. He didn’t want to talk about the conflict with her anymore than he had to, so he settled on just forgetting about it. I thought I would encourage him to talk with his Dad one more time so I said, “You know, every time I have a problem I talk to Dad about it and he helps me fix it.”
As he approached my husband, he said, “Dad, what do I do about girl problems?” Later my husband told me he wanted to tell him, ‘Run!’ But he didn’t. He gave him solid advice, like I knew he would!

What You’ll Need:
- 1 1/2 cups Macaroni Noodles
- 3 tbsp Flour
- 2 cups Milk
- 5 tbsp Butter
- 1 cup Cheese, Shredded
- 2 oz Velveeta Cheese, Cubed
- 1/2 tsp Salt
How to Make Homemade Baked Mac & Cheese
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 9 x 9 pan with non-stick spray and set aside.
- Pour 1 1/2 cups uncooked Macaroni noodles into large sauce pan and cook according to instructions on the box. Drain and set aside.
- In a separate sauce pan over medium heat, combine 3 tbsp flour and 2 cups milk. Mix together. Add 5 tbsp butter. Mix together until thickened.
- Then reduce heat to low and stir in 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, 2 ounces cubed Velveeta cheese, and 1/2 tsp salt. Continually stir until cheese is melted.
- Mix cheese sauce with cooked and drained Macaroni noodles.
- Pour into prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes or until bubbly.
- If desired, sprinkle shredded cheese on top 10 minutes before removing from the oven.
Recipe Notes:
- Freezing – This Mac & Cheese freezes well in a freezer safe container.
- Creaminess – When re-heating, add a little milk and stir to reach desired creaminess.
- Double – You can easily double this recipe!
