M&M Chocolate Chip Cookies

Every now and then I have bad baking streaks when nothing seems to go right, even with recipes I’ve made many times! I tried making these 4th of July Chocolate Chip Cookies and failed. I couldn’t tell you what went wrong, but I screwed something up.

I was telling my parents about my baking fail and my Dad volunteered my Mom, who is the queen of making cookies, to swoop in and save the day. And that’s exactly what she did!

What You’ll Need:

• 3/4 cup Butter, Softened
• 1 cup Brown Sugar
• 1/2 cup Sugar
• 1 Egg
• 1/2 tbsp Vanilla
• 2 1/2 cups Flour
• 2 tsp Corn Starch
• 1 tsp Baking Soda
• 1 cup Chocolate Chips
• 1 cup Red, White & Blue M&M’s

How to Make Chocolate Chip Cookies for 4th of July

• Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
• Cream together 3/4 cup softened butter, 1 cup brown sugar, and 1/2 cup sugar. Beat in 1 egg and 1/2 tbsp vanilla until fully combined.
• In a separate bowl, whisk together 2 1/2 cups flour, 2 tsp corn starch, and 1 tbsp baking soda.
• Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix until you’ve reached cookie dough consistency.
• Fold in 1 cup chocolate chips.
• Scoop 2 tbsp size cookie dough balls and place onto prepared baking sheet, leaving room between the cookies. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
• As soon as you remove from the oven, press in M&M’s and additional chocolate chips into the tops of the cookies.
