Reese’s Cup Turkey’s
Someone recently gave us a loaf of bread and my son wanted to return the favor and gift her something baked in return. He asked if he could look at my blog for a recipe.
I explained to him that I like to make things I haven’t blogged yet so I can add them to the blog and he nervously explained that he wanted to make something he knows people like. He was trying to nicely say, ‘Making something new was too risky!’ HA! It was both cute and hilarious.
In the back of his mind was a pan of brownie bites I recently attempted making. They were a complete flop, sunk in the middle, and made a huge mess! And before that, a bazillion other things that did not taste or look as good as the picture of the new recipes I found.
I always try to explain the importance of mistakes to him. Mistakes paved the way for my happiness today and I wouldn’t change any of them!
Although, I am pretty confident you won’t have any trouble making these Reese’s Cup Turkey Treats. They are super cute and easy to make! You might also like these Pilgrim Hat Cookies or Acorn Kisses!
What You’ll Need:
- 12 Reese’s Cups
- 12 Reese’s Miniature Cups
- 60 Candy Corn
- 24 Candy Eyes
- 6 Orange Reese’s Pieces
- Chocolate Chips
How to Make Reese’s Cup Turkey Treats
- Unwrap and lay out 12 Reese’s Cups.
- Heat a microwave safe ceramic plate for 1 minute. While heating, unwrap 12 Reese’s Miniature Cups.
- Place the Reese’s Miniature Cups on the warm plate for a few seconds. Remove and place them on the lower part of the Reese’s Cups. The bottoms of the Reese’s Miniature Cups should be slightly melted, acting as glue to the Reese’s Cups.
- Place a few chocolate chips on the same plate and microwave for 30 seconds, or until slightly melted. The chocolate should be soft enough to act as glue, but not a puddle of melted chocolate.
- Using a toothpick, dip into the softened chocolate chips and place on the Reese’s Miniature Cups where you will be placing the candy eyes.
- Place candy eyes over the chocolate.
- Cut 6 orange Reese’s Pieces in half and repeat the same process to ‘glue’ them on under the eyes.
- Repeat process again for the candy corn and using the toothpick, place dots of softened chocolate where the candy corn will be placed as feathers.
