Green Bay Packer Muddy Buddies
We are a football loving family! It’s my husband’s fault. He loves football and got our son hooked. It blows my husband and I away how much he knows about football statistics, including names and positions on all of the teams. It’s incredible!
For me, football season is nostalgic. My son was born in August, so every year when football season starts, I am reminded of his birth. And it means Fall is just around the corner and sweater weather is here. I just love this time of year!
I especially love putting a party spread out for football games to include some of our favorites like Beer Dip, Cheesy Ranch Crackers, Easy Taco Dip, and this Green Bay Packers Puppy Chow!
What You’ll Need:
- 8 cups Rice Chex Cereal
- 1/2 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
- 1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 1 cup Green Candy Melts
- 1 cup Yellow Candy Melts
- 2 cups Powdered Sugar
How to Make Green Bay Packers Puppy Chow
- Lay out two sheets of parchment paper.
- Pour 4 cups of Rice Chex cereal in a bowl. Set aside.
- In a separate microwave safe bowl melt 1 cup green candy melts, 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter, and 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil. Melt by placing in the microwave for 30 seconds, remove from the microwave and stir. Continue to stir in 30 second intervals until melted and smooth.
- Pour melted green chocolate mixture over the Rice Chex Cereal. Stir well to evenly coat.
- Pour 1 cup powdered sugar in a gallon Ziplock bag. Pour the green colored cereal into the bag and shake until thoroughly covered.
- Pour the mixture onto one of the parchment papers and spread out to cool.
- Next, repeat the entire process to coat the second 4 cups of Rice Chex Cereal with yellow chocolate.
- When each color is ready, combine both into a bowl and mix.
Recipe Notes:
- Team colors – You can switch the green and yellow out for any team colors!
- Sprinkles – Sprinkles are pictured with the Puppy Chow, but you don’t have to use them! I’ve also used Packer M&M’s in this mix before.
