An easy to make treat to make in support of your favorite team! This treat works great for parties and tailgating!
We are a football loving house. It’s my husbands fault. He loves football and got our son hooked. I’ll watch a few minutes here and there, but I have too much to do to sit around and watch as much football as they do! The Green Bay Packers are in the playoffs this year so I thought I would whip up a fun Packer themed treat for them to snack on during the game. It’s my way of showing our team support without actually spending three precious hours of my day watching them!
I actually love football as much as they do, I am just selective with the time I spend on it. For example, in the summer we love playing football in our backyard. We even turned an entire wall in our son’s bedroom into a football field. It’s super cool, if I do say so myself! And we recently went to a Packer game and I loved every single minute of it! But those are experiences and I pour all of my attention into them instead of from the couch.
And, I do pay attention to the behavior that the stars are modeling. I know more then I care to share about the NFL players because it’s important to me to know who and why my son thinks certain players are so great. Thankfully he cares more about how ‘cool’ the team logo looks then anything else right now! HA!

How to Make Green Bay Packers Puppy Chow
- Line two pans with parchment paper.
- Set out 2 bowls. Pour 4 cups of Rice Chex Cereal in each bowl. Set 1 bowl aside.
- In a separate microwave safe bowl melt 1 cup green candy melts, 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter, and 1/2 tablespoon vegetable oil. Melt by placing in the microwave for 45 seconds. Remove from the microwave to stir then place back in the microwave for additional 30 seconds. Remove from the microwave and stir until well combined and smooth.
- Pour melted green chocolate mixture over the first bowl of Rice Chex Cereal. Stir well to evenly coat.
- Then, in a gallon zip lock bag, pour 1 cup powdered sugar.
- Pour the green colored Rice Chex Cereal into the bag, seal and toss to coat evenly. This may require tossing for a few minutes.
- Pour the mixture onto one parchment paper lined pan to let harden.
- Next, repeat the entire process to coat the second 4 cups of Rice Chex Cereal with yellow.
- Once you are done, allow the Puppy Chow to harden. When the mixture is ready, combine both colors into a bowl and toss in green and yellow M&M’s!
NOTE: Green Bay Packer M&M’s are pictured. I was lucky and found these in my local grocery store. I live in Central Wisconsin where people bleed green and gold! They are a specialty item which won’t be easy to find, so I recommend just using green and yellow M&M’s. If you love Green Bay Packer M&M’s as much as I do, I am sure you could find them online if you plan ahead!
How to Store Puppy Chow
- Puppy Chow keeps for awhile if you keep the mixture sealed in an air tight zip lock bag or container!
