What You Need to Make a Peanut Butter Banana Spinach Smoothie
- Spinach
- Banana
- Peanut Butter
- Canned Pears
How to Make a Peanut Butter Banana Spinach Smoothie
- Place two heaping handfuls of spinach into a blender.
- Throw in 2 peeled ripe bananas.
- Spoon in 1/4 cup peanut butter.
- Pour in 2 cans of sliced pears.
- Blend until smooth.
How to Sweeten a Smoothie
- Canned Pears. That’s it! You don’t need honey, sugar, maple syrup, artificial sweeteners… it’s as easy as a can of pears!
- Pears are light in color so they don’t change the color of the smoothie. They take on the color of the smoothie!
- Not only are the pears a natural sweetener, but they are the liquid as well. You don’t need to use dairy or non-dairy milk, yogurt, or Greek yogurt. Just use a can of pears. It’s so easy!
What is the Difference Between a Vitamix and Blender?
- The biggest difference is the cost. Vitmaix has several different models, all of them are more expensive than a blender.
- Another difference is the texture, or the look of what you are blending. Using this Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie as an example:
- A Vitamix blends everything so smoothly, you won’t see any spinach particles in the smoothie.
- However, a blender (even the Ninja) will leave tiny particles of spinach.
- The Vitamix makes a very pretty looking smoothie! But, buying a Vitamix just for the looks isn’t fiscally responsible.
- The closest a blender gets to the Vitamix is the Ninja. I have used both and agree that the Ninja does a fabulous job! Consumer Reports has a great article about the differences and their test results. You can find the article here.
- If you are trying to decide between a Vitamix and blender just to make smoothies, get the blender. It will serve you well for smoothie making.
- However, I would splurge on the Vitamix if you are considering it for other reasons such as:
- Vegan Cheese
- Vegan Cream Cheese
- Creamy Soups
- Sticky Dough
- Nut Flour
- Raw Juice
- Nut Butter
