A fun, easy, and festive way to jazz up your football game day party spread!
Nutter Butter Footballs
My son really gets into football! He just loves it. He uses his creativity to decorate in support of whatever team he’s cheering for that day, it’s so cute!
As soon as Fall comes, we can smell football in the air. The nights are cooler, the sun sets earlier, and my son and husband get up early every Sunday morning to watch football game predictions. Football is their thing, they have bonded over it since our son was a little guy.
Naturally football season means snacks! We love these Cheesy Ranch Crackers, Easy Taco Dip, and these Nutter Butter Football Cookies!
And for Valentine’s Day, you can give these to your child’s football loving classmates along with my Free Printable Football Valentine’s!
What You’ll Need:
- 15 Nutter Butters
- 2 cups Chocolate Chips
- 1 packet Store-Bought White Cookie Icing
How to Make Nutter Butter Football Cookies
- Line baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt 2 cups chocolate chips in the microwave in 30 second intervals, removing from the microwave and stirring before returning to the microwave each time until the chocolate is melted and smooth.
- Dunk a Nutter Butter into the melted chocolate, tap access chocolate off, and place onto parchment paper lined pan. Repeat until cookies are covered in chocolate.
- Chill until firm.
- Follow instructions on the back of a store-bought package of white cookie icing to prepare it for use.
- Then draw football laces on top of the cookies.
- Chill until firm.
Recipe Notes:
- Icing – Be sure not to cut the tip of the icing packet too big. A narrow line of icing is easier to control, helping to make the lines look like laces!
- Practice – Practice drawing the laces on a paper plate, or something else, before ‘drawing’ the laces on to get a feel of how to best control the icing.
- Flat Surface – Be sure to set the cookies down on a flat surface after ‘drawing’ the laces on so the icing doesn’t run.
