An easy to make perfect side dish or snack that’s healthy, full of flavor, and baked to crispy perfection!
The last time I made these Oven Baked Sweet Potato Fries, I could barely keep them around long enough to take pictures of them so I could share the recipe with you!
I put a batch in the oven and left them to bake while I tended to my flowers outside. When the time was up I went back in, removed them from the oven, and let them cool. I went back outside to finish what I started and my son and his neighbor friend decided it was too hot outside so they went inside. Meanwhile, my husband came outside to help me finish up working on the flowers.
When we were all done, my husband was ahead of me and as he walked in the door I heard him say, “Whatcha doin’?” His tone was an indication he already knew what they were doing and was curious to know what their response was going to be. He then told me the kids were caught red handed eating the fries! We assured them they could have more the following night when I was done taking pictures of them.
Later that night I took the pictures and left the plate for the kids to have the next day. I ran an errand and came home to half of the plate of fries gone! He left just enough for the kids. My husband got the look as he was licking his chops. These fries are hard to keep around! They are sooooo good! They are fresh from the potato and homemade, nothing like store bought. I know the sound of homemade fries sounds daunting, but work together as a family and you’ll have them in the oven within a few minutes!

Tips for Making and Storing Sweet Potato Fries
- If you have a fry cutting gadget, using that will make this go a lot faster. If not, no biggie. Just cut the sweet potatoes into fries using a knife!
- You don’t need to peel them either. It just takes extra time and they taste just as amazing with the peeling left on!
- The bigger the fries, the longer they need to bake.
- If you would like to season your dip, reserve a dash of the seasoning you used on the fries. Or, you can use a dash of your favorite seasoned salt.
- These are best eaten right out of the oven. If you save them for another day they’ll be soggy.
- You can freeze the fries! Just place your fries in a freezer safe bag and pull them out when you are ready to bake. To make it easy on yourself, put 4 chopped sweet potatoes in each bag. Then it’s already measured!
