An adorable little edible snow globe made with a few simple ingredients! Your kids and grandkids will love these!
Oreo Snow Globes
These adorable little Oreo Snow Globe Cookies are so much fun to make! This time of year there are bazillions of fun Christmas edible icing decorations to chose from, so getting the ingredients you’ll need is pretty easy.
Some people have used the next size up Reese’s, but I can’t get it to look proportionate so I stick to using the mini-size. And you could alternatively put it on after the Oreo dries. Just melt any leftover previously melted almond bark and use it as ‘glue.’ Also, you could use white chocolate chips, but for best results I highly recommend almond bark. It is the easiest to work with and dries quickly and beautifully!
And any Oreo works for these, I just like using the Christmas Oreos because they have red filling! If your kids, or grandkids, don’t want to stop at making these, you could also make Gingerbread Cookies, Reindeer Pretzels, Melted Snowman Bark, Reindeer Graham Crackers, Oreo Ornament Cookies, Gnome Cookie Cups, or Reindeer Oreos, too!
What You’ll Need:
- 10 Christmas Oreos
- 12 oz Almond Bark
- 10 Mini Reese’s Cups
- Christmas Edible Icing Decorations
- White Edible Glitter Flakes
How to Make Oreo Snow Globe Cookies
- Lay out a piece of parchment paper and 10 Christmas Oreos.
- Melt 12 oz almond bark in the microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring between each interval until smooth and melted.
- Gently place an Oreo in the melted almond bark. (Do not stir Oreo around. Avoid moving it as much as possible, it will leave Oreo crumbs which will discolor the almond bark.) Cover the top of the Oreo with almond bark using a fork. Using the same fork, scoop under the Oreo and lift out, tapping excess melted almond bark off and sliding against the edge of the bowl. Set on the parchment paper.
- Place a Christmas edible icing decoration in the center and sprinkle around it with white edible glitter flakes.
- While cookies are still laying on the parchment paper, press a mini-Reese’s cup where the bottom of the snow globe would be when you stand it up.
- Repeat until you have desired amount.
- Let harden.
