Layered Red, White and Blue Jello Cups with Cool Whip!
If you’ve been following the blog for awhile, then you know how much I love recipes that I know how to make just by seeing the picture. You also know how much I love super easy recipes that also have a ‘wow’ factor in presentation and taste! And of course, there is my love of shortcuts!
These Red, White and Blue Jello Cups are everything I look for! I can literally make them without a recipe and they look like I made some effort when really they are effortless!
Why this Recipe Works:
- Layering Works Because of Setting Time – Which results in clean, defined red, white and blue layers.
- Cool Whip Adds Contrast & Stability – And gives a smooth, fluffy center that doesn’t collapse.
- Simple Ingredients – I love how this is an easy recipe with predictable results and repeatable success even for beginners!
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- 1 (6 oz) Berry Blue Jello – Creates the blue bottom (or top) layer, made according to the directions on the box.
- 1 (6 oz) Raspberry Jello – Makes the white middle layer.
- 1 (8 oz) Cool Whip – Creates the red layer, made according to the directions on the box.
How to Make Red, White and Blue Jello Cups
- Prepare 1 (6 oz) Berry Blue Jello according to the package instructions. Pour into a 9 x 13 glass pan and refrigerate until firm.
- Prepare 1 (6 oz) Raspberry Jello according to the package instructions. Pour into a separate 9 x 13 glass pan and refrigerate until firm.
- Once both flavors are firm, cut into 1″ pieces.
- Divide the blue cubes evenly between 7 plastic cups, filling the cups 1/3 full.
- Cover with Cool Whip so each cup is 2/3 full.
- Then divide the red cubes evenly between the cups, filling each one to the top.
- Garnish with patriotic decorations if desired.
My Best Tips:
- Let Each Layer Set Properly – Don’t rush! Each layer needs to be firm. If it’s still jiggly on top, wait longer.
- Be Patient – Expect to work on it ‘on and off for a couple hours.’
