Easy Halloween Party Dirt Cake Cups!
My husband and son play the same card game all the time. They even ordered a special deck of cards! My son wins almost every game, which just makes my husband want to keep playing because he is determined to win! They play for what feels like an eternity to me. They get out snacks, talk smack, and listen to music… it’s adorable!
Do you know what else is super cute and fun? Decorating these Halloween Oreo Dirt Cake Cups! You can use any of your favorite Halloween candies to make them look like a grave yard, a pumpkin patch, or anything else you can come up with!
Why this Recipe Works:
- No Bake Convenience – These Halloween Oreo Dirt Cake Cups come together with minimal effort and no oven required, making them perfect for busy holiday preparations.
- Perfect Individual Portions – Serving dessert in cups makes it easy for parties, school events, and gatherings while keeping cleanup simple.
- Fun Halloween Presentation – Spooky decorations like gummy worms, candy eyes, pumpkins, or Halloween sprinkles instantly transform a simple dessert into a festive treat.
- Kid Friend and Crowd Pleasing – The combination of cookies, pudding, and playful toppings is always a hit with kids and adults alike!

Ingredients You’ll Need:
- 1 package Oreo’s (Crushed) – Creates the classic ‘dirt’ layer and adds a rich chocolate cookie flavor throughout the dessert.
- 4 tbsp Butter (Softened) – Helps bind the crushed Oreos and contributes a rich, buttery texture.
- 1 cup Powdered Sugar – Sweetens the cream cheese mixture and helps create a smooth, creamy filling.
- 8 oz Cream Cheese (Softened) – Adds a tangy flavor and velvety texture that balances the sweetness of the dessert.
- 2 (3.9 oz each) Packages Instant Chocolate Pudding – Provides the rich chocolate flavor and creamy consistency that make dirt cake so irresistible.
- 3 1/2 cups Milk – Combines with the pudding mix to create a smooth, thick chocolate pudding layer.
- 12 oz Cool Whip – Lightens the filling, making it fluffy, airy, and easy to layer.
- Halloween Candy – The fun finishing touch! Use gummy worms, candy pumpkins, candy eyes, tombstones, Halloween sprinkles, or other festive treats to create a spooky presentation.

- Crushed Oreos
- Pudding mixture & gummy worm
- Crushed Oreos
- Garnish top with Halloween candy and crushed Oreos.

My Best Tips:
- Make Ahead Success Tip – These hold up nicely if you make them one day ahead, but I don’t recommend making them any farther ahead than that. The cookie crumbs will start to soften.
- Use Instant Pudding – Any brand of instant chocolate pudding will work, but it must be instant. Use the 3.9 oz size box.
- Variations:
- Sandy Beach – Use golden Oreos and decorate with little umbrellas.
- Construction – Use toy tractors and/or construction themed toys to garnish with. It’s especially exciting to kids when they get to take the decorations home!
- Dinosaur – Use small dinosaurs to decorate with for dinosaur themed birthday parties!
- Easter – Decorate with bunny Peeps, candy eggs, or other Easter candy. Or, save time by making these Easter Dirt Cake Pudding Cups instead.
- Garden – Use little flowers to garnish with.
- Earth Day – Garnish with nature themed decorations.
- Recommended Cup Size – I recommend using 9 oz clear cups. They are ideal for showing off the layers, but mason jars or small glasses work just as well.
