I have criteria for what I consider to be a recipe worth trying for the first time.
First, I like to be able to look at a picture and know exactly how to make it and what ingredients I’ll need. For example, over Easter I saw a White Chocolate Covered Oreo Bunny Butt on Pinterest. I knew how to make them without even looking at the ingredients or recipe. I made them based solely on looking at the picture. Easy peasy.

Second, if I already have all of the ingredients in my pantry I will most likely give it a try. Why not?! Or, if I can remember what ingredients I need without writing them down, there is a good chance I’ll try making it.

Third, if the recipe is short and sweet I’ll give it a try. New to me recipes with a lot of fluff turn me away. Sometimes I will read through a recipe and see if I can sift through the stuff I don’t need to see if I am still interested. But more often than not, I’ll keep looking until I find a shorter recipe.

Ingredients for No Bake Vegan Peanut Butter Cheerio Bars
- Peanut Butter
- Agave
- Cheerios
What to Mix Into These Cheerio Bars for Vegans
- Vegan Mini-Chocolate Chips
- Dried Fruit
- Nuts
What to Mix Into These Cheerio Bars for Non-Vegans
For non-vegans, you can substitute the agave for honey. You can also mix in:
- Mini-Chocolate Chips
- Dried Fruit
- Nuts
- Mini-M&M’s
- Mini-Marshmallows

How to Make No Bake Vegan Peanut Butter Cheerio Bars
- Line an 8 x 8 pan with parchment paper.
- Put 3 cups of Cheerios in a bowl. Set aside.
- Melt 3/4 cup peanut butter and 1/2 cup agave together over low heat, stirring constantly until well mixed together. This only takes a minute or two once the pan is warm.
- Pour peanut butter and agave mixture over the Cheerios. Mix until well combined and pour into parchment paper lined pan.
- Put them in the refrigerator until firm. Cut into bars once firm.

In my house we call these Pooh Butter Bars. When my husband and I were kids, we attended a summer camp that would have ‘Pooh Butter’ on the tables. It was a perfect mixture of peanut butter and honey! As if that wasn’t enough to take a walk down memory lane, the cheerios in these bars remind me of my little guy being REALLY little. Oh, how time flies!

- 3/4 cup Peanut Butter
- 1/2 cup Agave
